Legal
Privacy policy
Global Investigative Research respects reader privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site or contact us, and how that information is used.
Information we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamps. These logs support security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis.
- Contact messages. If you email us, we receive your address, message content, and any attachments you choose to send.
- Cookies and analytics. Essential cookies may be set by our CDN or hosting infrastructure for performance and security. If you accept cookies, we load Google Analytics (Google LLC) to measure aggregate traffic and page views. Decline skips analytics tags.
How we use information
Contact emails are used only to respond to inquiries, verify tips when requested, and maintain a record of correspondence related to editorial or media requests. Server logs are used for troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate readership trends. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Server logs are retained for a limited period consistent with hosting provider defaults, then deleted or aggregated. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed for editorial, legal, or operational purposes, then securely deleted when no longer required.
Third-party services
The site is delivered through a content delivery network and static hosting provider. Those vendors process technical data under their own privacy terms. Google Analytics processes anonymized usage data when you accept cookies; see Google's privacy policy.
Your choices
You may request access to or deletion of correspondence you sent us by emailing media@globalinvestigativeresearch.org. We may retain minimal records where required for legal or editorial integrity.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
